Our Elm Oysters Mushrooms are grown on a masters mix which creates a diverse food source for maximum yields. Elm Oysters can contain a number of essential minerals, including magnesium, iron, manganese, and zinc. As with many mushrooms, Elm Oysters are an excellent source of Vitamin D. Their medicinal values include immune modulation due to the interaction of their glucans with the human immune system. Elm Oysters also produce a natural form of lovastatin, a mevinolin that inhibits the synthesis and absorption of cholesterol therefore significant support for cardiovascular health and lipid numbers.
Elm oyster mushrooms are firm and flavorful and make a delicious compliment to meats. They can also be cooked and served alone or with other vegetables. Some dishes that can be enhanced are light creamy sauces, broths/soups, and Omelets (our personal favorite).
